Meet the Diamond State Martial Arts Instructors

We Develop Champions from the Ground Up

At Diamond State Martial Arts, world-class coaching means more than teaching techniques. Our instructors follow a structured training system designed to help students build strong fundamentals, develop confidence, and make steady progress at every stage of their journey.

A Proven Fundamentals System

Every successful martial artist starts with a strong foundation. Our Fundamentals Classes break Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Judo down into clear, manageable steps, helping students understand essential movements, positions, techniques, and strategies before progressing to more advanced training.

We Develop Talent—We Don’t Just Recruit It

Many academies build successful competition teams by recruiting experienced athletes. At Diamond State Martial Arts, we take pride in developing our students from the beginning. We are the only academy in the area to have trained world champions from white belt, guiding them from their first class to the highest levels of competition.

Coaching for Every Level

You don’t have to want to become a world champion to benefit from championship-level coaching. Our structured system helps beginners, recreational students, and serious competitors improve at their own pace while receiving the same attention to detail and high-quality instruction.

Champions On and Off the Mats

Winning medals is only one measure of success. Our coaches also teach discipline, perseverance, respect, leadership, and accountability. Our goal is to help every student become more confident and capable—not only in training and competition, but in everyday life.

Train with National and World Medal-Winning BJJ and Judo Coaches

Our coaching team includes medalists from major IBJJF tournaments and national-level Judo competitors. At Diamond State Martial Arts, you’ll learn from experienced instructors who bring proven competition knowledge, technical expertise, and a passion for helping every student improve.

Meet the Team Behind Diamond State Martial Arts

Our instructors bring together high-level competition experience, technical knowledge, and a genuine commitment to every student’s growth. Whether you’re stepping onto the mats for the first time or preparing for competition, our team will provide the guidance, encouragement, and detailed coaching you need to reach your goals.

The Philosophy Behind Our Curriculum

The Diamond State Martial Arts curriculum is built around strong fundamentals, clear instruction, safe practice, and steady progress. Our coaches believe students learn best when they understand why a technique works—not simply when they memorize a series of movements.

Each lesson combines explanation, demonstration, focused repetition, and practical application. Students first learn a technique in a controlled setting before applying it through positional training or appropriate resistance.

Developing Students From the Beginning

Our coaches take pride in developing students instead of focusing only on athletes who already have experience. Beginners receive the attention and guidance needed to build good habits from their first class.

Individual Progress Within a Team Environment

Every student has different abilities, goals, and learning needs. Our instructors provide individual feedback while maintaining a positive team environment where training partners help one another improve.

Coaching Recreational Students and Competitors

Championship-level instruction is valuable even for students who never plan to compete. Recreational students, beginners, and competitive athletes receive the same commitment to technical detail, safety, discipline, and personal growth.

A Proven Lovato Jiu-Jitsu Lineage

Diamond State Martial Arts is proud to be part of the Lovato Jiu-Jitsu Association, led by world champion Rafael Lovato Jr. This affiliation connects our students to a proven Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu lineage, technical system, and coaching network with a history of success at the highest levels of competition.

Coach Daniel Williams combines the principles of the Lovato system with more than 18 years of training, coaching, and competition experience. He has helped develop a structured Diamond State curriculum that gives students a clear path from their first class through advanced training and competition. Our goal is not simply to teach individual techniques—it is to develop complete martial artists with strong fundamentals, technical understanding, discipline, and the ability to perform under pressure.

Belts Are Earned Through Progress and Testing

At Diamond State Martial Arts, belts are earned—they are not handed out as participation trophies. Promotions represent genuine improvement and a student’s ability to meet clearly defined standards.

Students are tested so they understand what they have learned, where they are improving, and what they still need to work on. Our coaches communicate these expectations clearly, giving every student meaningful goals and an honest understanding of their progress.

Clear Standards at Every Level

Our structured curriculum identifies the knowledge and skills students should develop at each stage of training. Instead of leaving students to wonder whether they are improving, our coaches provide clear direction, specific feedback, and practical goals they can work toward.

These standards create consistency throughout the academy and help students take responsibility for their development. Every class becomes another step toward a measurable goal.

Developing Champions From the Ground Up

We believe champions are developed through excellent instruction, consistent effort, accountability, and strong fundamentals. Diamond State Martial Arts takes pride in helping students grow from complete beginners into skilled martial artists and successful competitors.

Winning medals is only one form of success. Our system also develops confidence, perseverance, discipline, leadership, and the ability to respond positively to challenges. Whether a student wants to compete or simply become a stronger version of themselves, they receive the same commitment to high standards and meaningful progress.

It’s Never Too Late to Start Training

You don’t need experience or athletic ability to begin martial arts. At Diamond State Martial Arts, our supportive coaches will help you learn at your own pace, build confidence, improve your fitness, and develop practical skills from day one.
