My Martial Arts Journey
My martial arts journey began in 2007 when he stated cross training in mma to get in shape for racing motocross. What began as hobby/personal challenge grew into a lifelong commitment to learning, competing, teaching, and helping others discover what martial arts can do for their lives.
Over the past19 years, I have trained under Multiple world champions, olympics medalists , competed on the world stage, and continued developing my knowledge of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Judo. Every experience has helped shape the training system and culture we have created at Diamond State Martial Arts.
Founding Diamond State Martial Arts
I founded Diamond State Martial Arts in 2019 because i wanted a good place to practice my skills and help other grow. My goal was to build an academy where complete beginners, families, recreational students, and serious competitors could all receive detailed instruction and personal support.

A Proud Member of the Lovato Jiu-Jitsu Association
Diamond State Martial Arts is proud to be a member of the Lovato Jiu-Jitsu Association. This connection gives our academy access to a respected lineage, proven technical knowledge, and a larger community of dedicated instructors and athletes.
Our affiliation helps us continue improving our curriculum while giving students the opportunity to learn from a system that has produced success at the highest levels of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
Stronger Together Through the Lovato Jiu-Jitsu Association
Diamond State Martial Arts is proud to be part of the Lovato Jiu-Jitsu Association. Rafael Lovato Jr.’s leadership has helped take our academy and community to the next level, and we’re honored to have him visit and train with us whenever his schedule allows.
Being part of the association gives our students opportunities to learn from world champions, connect with outstanding coaches and training partners, and build relationships with affiliated academies around the world. We are more than one gym—we are part of a global martial arts family that shares knowledge, supports one another, and grows stronger together.

My Coaching Philosophy
My responsibility as a coach is not simply to demonstrate techniques. It is to give every student a clear path for improvement, help them overcome challenges, and hold them to a standard that brings out their best.
Strong Fundamentals First
Our structured Fundamentals Classes give students the essential movements, positions, and concepts they need before moving into more advanced training.
Developing Talent from the Beginning
Diamond State Martial Arts does not depend on recruiting accomplished athletes. We develop students from their first day on the mats and have produced world champions who began with us as white belts.
Champions On and Off the Mats
Medals are meaningful, but they are not our only measure of success. Confidence, discipline, resilience, respect, leadership, and personal growth are equally important parts of training.
Proven Through Our Students
The true measure of a coach is the progress of the students. Athletes developed at Diamond State Martial Arts have achieved success at IBJJF International level, including Multiple world, National and pan american champions.
Just as importantly, our students have become more confident, disciplined, and capable in their everyday lives.
