FAQ
1. Do I need any experience to start training?
No experience is required! All of our classes — from BJJ and Judo to Kickboxing and Wrestling — are beginner-friendly. Our coaches will teach you the basics safely and help you progress at your own pace.
2. What should I wear to my first class?
For your first class, wear a comfortable T-shirt and athletic shorts or leggings. Once you decide which program you like, we’ll guide you on what gear to get — such as a gi for BJJ and Judo or gloves for Kickboxing.
3. Do I need to be in shape before joining?
Not at all! Martial arts will get you in shape. Each class builds strength, endurance, and flexibility. You’ll improve your fitness naturally as you train.
4. Which martial art is best for beginners?
It depends on your goals!
-
BJJ and Judo are great for learning grappling, balance, and self-defense.
-
Kickboxing improves striking, cardio, and coordination.
-
Wrestling builds explosive strength and control.
Our coaches can help you find the best fit for you.
5. Are classes safe for new students?
Yes! Safety is our top priority. Instructors ensure that all techniques are practiced with control and respect. We emphasize proper form, tap-out safety, and good training etiquette.
6. Is martial arts good for self-defense?
Definitely. BJJ, Judo, Kickboxing, and Wrestling all teach practical skills for real-world self-defense, while also building awareness, confidence, and composure.
7. How often should I train?
Most beginners start with 2–3 classes per week. Consistency matters more than intensity — you’ll build technique, confidence, and fitness faster with regular training.
8. Do I need to compete to train here?
No competition is required! Many of our members train for fitness, confidence, or fun. For those who do want to compete, our coaches can help you join the Elite Fight Team or prepare for local tournaments.
9. What age groups can join?
We have programs for kids, teens, and adults. Each class is age-appropriate, focusing on skill-building, discipline, and fun.
